Some main criteria were set for the selection of the project representatives: to be citizens of the cities who used to hold the name of Stalin or to be clearly linked to these cities, to have a good command of English so as to be able to communicate the memories of the past, to be volunteers or members of the implementation teams which got involved in the project activities.
The clear purpose of the coordinators was that of getting as many as possible involved in the documentation visits to the other Stalin cities, which is why the members of the travelling Stalin teams changed from one town to the next, to allow as many people as possible to take part in the external activities.
